The boys’ varsity basketball team fell to Marin Catholic on Saturday night’s rivalry matchup, capping their first MCAL loss of the early season.
In the competitive 76-69 loss, the Giants managed to keep the score tight despite the abundance of fouls committed in the second half.
According to junior Mike Sullivan, who had the team high 17 points in the game, said the fouls against Redwood were the biggest factor in their loss.
“They shot 31 free throws in the second half compared to 6 in the first half,” Sullivan said. “It was close the whole game, but they got fouled in the second half, and that’s where most of the points came from.”
Redwood plays today against San Marin at 7:30.
