Emergency service service related measures
Measure A would impose a parcel tax of $29 per single family residence to fund the improvement of the county’s communication and 911-call systems. A two-thirds majority is required for Measure A to pass.
Measure I, which will only be voted on in Corte Madera, would authorize the town of Corte Madera to continue a $75 parcel tax for four years to fund paramedic and emergency services. A parcel here is defined as a residential unit or 1,000 square feet of enclosed floor space for non-residential units. A two-thirds majority vote is required for Measure I to pass.
Measures K, L, M, N, P, Q, and S, which will be voted on in Fairfax, Larkspur, Ross, San Anselmo, the entire county, Kentfield, and Sleepy Hollow, respectively, would increase the current $57 parcel tax by $6 annually to a maximum of $75 per residential house or $1,500 square feet of nonresidential unit in the next four years in order to fund paramedical services. All seven measures require a two-thirds majority to pass.
Education related measures
Measures B, C, D, H would authorize the Bolinas-Stinson Union School District, the San Rafael Dixie School District, the Kentfield School District, and Santa Rosa Junior College, to increase each of their debts through the issuing of bonds in order to upgrade and repair schools in their respective districts. All four measures measures require a 55 percent majority vote to pass.
Measure E would authorize the Ross School District to continue collecting its parcel tax for eight years with an annual $184 increase per parcel and a three percent per year increase to the tax rate. Measure E requires a two-thirds majority to pass.
General tax related measures
Measure J, which will only be voted on in Fairfax, would allow the town of Fairfax to impose a $195 parcel tax that would be applied to residences and businesses for the next five years. The tax would consist of the current $50 per parcel tax, the $125 per special parcel tax, and a $20 parcel increase. Measure J requires a two thirds majority vote to pass.
Measure O would allow the city of Sausalito to impose a 0.5 percent sales tax over the next four years. Measure O requires a two thirds majority vote to pass.
Miscellaneous measures
Measure R would authorize the Marin Healthcare District to continue leasing Marin General Hospital to the non-profit Marin General Hospital Corporation for $500,000 annually. Measure R requires a two thirds majority to pass.
Measure T would authorize the Strawberry Recreation District to increase its debt by $3.5 million through the issuing of bonds in order to build a new Strawberry District Community Building and upgrade and renovate the district’s Main Building. Measure T requires a 55 percent majority vote to pass.
