The Redwood boys’ MCAL volleyball season came to an end after being swept by Drake in the league championship on Friday, May 9.
The match was held in the College of Marin gym. This was Redwood’s third loss to Drake this season.
Although Redwood had an early lead in the first game, they were unable keep it, finishing, 25-18. The second game finished 31-29, as Redwood was over taken during deuce-point. The third and final game went back and forth with Drake victorious with a score of 25-21, winning the MCAL pennant.
In the locker room, Pelfini said that their coach appreciated their hard work during the season and the game.
“We didn’t have anything to hang our heads about, we left everything we had out on the and that’s all that he could ask for,” Pelfini said.
Pelfini also said that going into the match they felt confident that they could stay in control and keep the pressure on Drake. However, he said their errors got the better of them and they could not gain back the lead.
