The Marin County Free Library located in Marin’s Civic Center was recently being remodeled with the help of measure A, a local library funding program, working to keep library services up to date. The library reopened on May 1st.
In June of 2010, the Marin County Free Library passed Measure A funding with 74% support of the community. Some changes the new library will include from this funding are easier access to materials and more convenient programs used to help maximize efficiency.
“The funds enabled the library to protect library branches from being closed and enabled the library to make physical improvements that will allow branches to be more effective and efficient,” said Damon Hill, the Marin County Free Library public services manager.
According to Hill, the new library will include technology upgrades to all the computers.
He also said that the library is undergoing numerous architectural changes such as an open space
to allow for more natural light.
