On Friday, Jan. 31, girls’ basketball celebrated senior night by beating the Tamalpais Red-Tailed Hawks 73-37. After a hard-fought game, the Giants remain undefeated in Marin County Athletic League play. Redwood started the first quarter slowly, still ahead 18-12 but not playing to their standards. However, they gained control of the game in the last three quarters, dominating all over the court with relentless rebounding and a surge of fast breaks. Senior Molly Gallagher had an exceptional game, forcing three turnovers that switched the momentum in the second quarter. After the match, seniors Ainsley Gallagher, Molly Gallagher and Maya Saibel were celebrated by their teammates with posters and positive remarks. The Giants’ next match is against the Branson Bulls at 2 p.m. on Feb. 1. Make sure to show up and support them as they continue their undefeated league season!
