On Tuesday, Sept. 24, the girls’ varsity water polo team played against Novato at home for a Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) game, securing their third victory in a row. The game began at 4 p.m., and friends and family gathered with excitement as the first whistle was blown and the event began. The Giants, the clear favorite, swiftly took the lead with a strong offense and active defense, featuring goals scored by junior Morgan Sicklick, freshman Samantha Riley and more. The same strong pattern continued throughout the game, with Novato scoring a few points, but ultimately being dominated by Redwood’s firm and confident lead, ending the game with a final score of 18-3. According to Roxie Monty, a junior on the team, this game allowed the players to work on their skills and pre-determined plays, and they were able to use it as a learning experience in preparation for a much bigger game that they will be playing on the 25th against Tam. The game will be at Tam at 5 p.m., so make sure to get out there and support your Giants!
