On Tuesday, April 4, during SMART period, Redwood Giants from sports teams, campus clubs and extracurricular groups joined together to show their school spirit at the eagerly awaited Lip Dub. The Lip Dub was announced at the beginning of the year and after a long and tedious planning process, leadership announced that it would take place in early April and be performed to “Feel this Moment” by Pitbull, featuring Christina Aguilera. Around 50 groups, including Peer Resource, architecture class, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse and Sustainable Agriculture spread themselves throughout the campus to participate and cheer on the lip syncers as the camera passed their designated area. Many clubs took it upon themselves to make posters and sports teams brought their spirit along with field hockey sticks, tennis rackets and volleyballs. Finally, at the end of each take, everyone participating was instructed to run to the amphitheater in order to get a school-wide video as a perfect, energetic end to the 2023 Lip Dub.
