Photo Essay: Girls’ varsity soccer faces a tough loss against Marin Academy

On Dec. 1, the girls’ varsity soccer team battled the Marin Academy Wildcats in a nail-biting, non-league game. The Giants started the game with a strong lead as sophomore Sarah Farese put the team up by one in the first five minutes. Throughout the rest of the first half, the Giants dominated by maintaining possession, shutting down their opponents on defense and making critical saves. After halftime, the team came out with even more energy and aggression as the Giants widened their lead with a key goal from senior Ruby Churton. Although the Giants put up a tough fight, with many impressive saves from senior goalie Paige Barta, the Wildcats were able to close the gap, scoring three goals in the game’s final minutes.
