Redwood students shine at “Best of the IJ Lobby Lounge”

Last Friday, the Showcase Theater at the Marin Civic Center sold out “Best of the IJ Lobby Lounge,” marking the second anniversary of the Marin Independent Journal “IJ Lobby Lounge” video concert series.

The Best of the IJ Lobby Lounge showcased, “Marin’s up-and-coming musical acts, spotlighting the local stars of tomorrow,” per The Marin IJ’s website.

Redwood students Noa Zimmerman and Alison Wood each sang two original songs, and Nicole Stock performed with her acapella group ‘Til Dawn.  Aaron Halford, Bryte Darden, John Van Liere, Karl Tietze, Jason Seavey, Jake Baldwin, Michael Schwartz, Matthew Michna and Max Lukianchicov, were also featured in the show, performing in their funk band.

The showcase of young Marin performers was emceed by Marin IJ reporter and music writer Paul Liberatore.

Along with the Redwood students’ performances, other featured acts included the rock bands Matt Jaffe & the Distractions and Ridgway, and female singer-songwriters, Rose Paradise, Keeley Valentino and Caroline Sky.
