Leadership hosts Crazy Cozy Ugly Sweater day

Leadership hosted Crazy Cozy Ugly Sweater day on Dec. 3 to correspond with Mental Wellness week.

The Leadership class sold bread bowls and tomato soup from Boudin to students during lunch, and the soup proved more popular than Leadership originally anticipated, selling out within 20 minutes.

In collaboration with the Wellness Center, Leadership has been trying to plan food days for students throughout the semester, according to ASB class president Adelaide Shunk. The Leadership class originally intended to host lunch during the Turkey Bowl, but decided that the lunch would fit better with the sweater theme.

“We thought that it would be good to take care of yourself by wearing a comfortable sweater and eating comfort food to tie in throughout the theme,” Shunk said.

Peer Resource also held a concurrent carnival to promote mental wellness in hopes of keeping kids on campus during lunch, according to leadership teacher, Dave Plescia. Plescia helped contribute to the planning of the day as well.

The Leadership class will sell food at three more lunchtimes throughout spring semester, according to Shunk.
