The JV girls’ volleyball team finished off their league season with a dominating win against San Rafael in two sets Thursday night.

The team controlled the game with scores of 25-5 and 25-10.  Sophomore Alex Lefebure’s consistently strong serves contributed to the team’s success.

During the first set the Giants crushed the Bulldogs, holding them to just five points. The second set went a little slower with a start of 5-4, putting the Bulldogs in the lead. The Giants then picked themselves up and pulled through with another win.

“We put up a good fight. We had a few errors here and there but otherwise we did really well,” freshman Ella Spaethling said.

Freshman Mathilde Caindec was cheered on by her teammates as she played in the front line for the first time.

“She’s a libero, so she plays in the back row, so she never really gets to go up and hit because she’s never in the front row of a game,” Spaethling said.
