The boys’ varsity baseball team won a close game against Tam with a final score of 4-3 on Tuesday, March 24

The first two innings went by quickly with most Tam batters not making it to first base due to the talents of the outfielders and senior Tyler Peck who was pitching.

The third inning was rather slow until a Tam player caught a ball while sliding and injured his shoulder.

Following the injury, senior Adam Hussain, took a hit which allowed senior Devon Pence, to score the first run of the game. The inning finished with Redwood two points up.

Tam quickly closed the gap as their pitcher took the mound.

On a pitch when Tam was up to bat, the catcher failed to grab the pitch as it flew by the batter. A Tam player on third base decided to make a run for home and gave Tam their first point.

Their next batter allowed a runner from third base to cross home plate, tying up the game.

The playing ground evened out until the final inning. Senior Aaron Dorfler, hit a double. The next two batters were walked.

Bases were loaded when Junior Parker Laret came up to bat. He hit the ball right over the outfielders’ head, which allowed Aaron to score a run and give Redwood the winning point, ending the game 4-3.

Next Redwood will play at San Rafael, Friday, March 27.
