Girls’ varsity basketball triumphs over San Marin

Girls+varsity+basketball+triumphs+over+San+Marin

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, The girls’ varsity basketball team won against San Marin with a final score of 34-40. The game drew a large crowd for both the Giants and the Mustangs. The score remained quite close, but Redwood was able to pull ahead in the final quarter.

The score was 32-32 when senior Bengu Atik made the free throw that put Redwood ahead for the rest of the game.

“A lot was going through my mind,” said Atik. “I didn’t want to let my teammates down. Knowing they had my back really helped me out and I made the shot.”

The team’s next game is on Friday at Branson at 6 at Branson.
