Freshman Report: Giants’ football runs past Terra Linda

Running back Dylan Antone runs past a Terra Linda defender. The Giants went on to win 45-14

The freshman football team got back on track after last week’s loss to Marin Catholic with a 45-14 win over Terra Linda on Oct. 6.

Redwood took control early, with a 30-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Chu just two minutes into the first quarter. The ground game remained strong throughout the game, as Auz Zadoff scored Redwood’s second touchdown after running 44 yards into the end zone.

During the second quarter, Chu once again got in the action with an interception of a Terra Linda pass that he returned 40 yard. However, Terra Linda hung tough for the rest off the second quarter.

Near the end of the half, Redwood took charge again when Dylan Antone scored to make the game 21-0 at half in favor of Redwood. Antone’s run followed a fumble recovery by Carlos Quinones.

Chu and Antone worked well together during the third quarter to place Redwood even farther in lead. The two running backs were the featured offensive weapons and controlled the ball for much of the second half.

Terra Linda did get on the board late in the half to make the final score a little less lopsided.

They play next at Novato on October 13th.
