SoMo performs at the Fillmore in San Francisco

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Joseph Somers-Morales, commonly known as SoMo, performed in San Francisco at the Fillmore.

The line outside of the Fillmore wrapped around the street pre-concert. An hour before the show started, VIP ticket holders were able to enter and participate in a meet-and-greet with SoMo.

The first opening act was Bay Area native DJ JakeeyP, who hyped up the crowd with  popular songs that he mixed with an R&B beat.  JakeeyP was then followed by R&B soul-inspired Francesco Yates.

Following a short break and set change, the lights in the Fillmore all turned off at once as SoMo appeared on the steps of the stage. He stood in all black, and as the lights began to turn back on slowly he started off the night with the song “Touch the Sky,” from his 2013 album “My Life.” As the night progressed, he played a variety of songs from his albums “My Life” and “SoMo.”

Live, SoMo added guitar and drum sounds into his set as he sang every lyric with passion and interacted with the crowd. Throughout the show, SoMo jumped up and down all over the stage as he maintained his high energy and kept the crowd energized.

During his rendition of the Weeknd’s “Or Nah,” SoMo brought a fan from the crowd on stage and serenaded her. Throughout the show, he walked down off the stage and disappeared into the crowd of eager fans.

SoMo’s “Wide Awake” tour will continue on into California and Arizona and will ultimately end in the singer’s home state of Texas.
