The girls’ varsity tennis team defeated Drake at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7, after many shutout matches.
Both junior Lauren Wolfe and freshman Lindsey Thornton won both of their singles matches 6-0.
“I thought that today I was serving very well which is sometimes a challenge for me,” Thornton said. “[My opponent] was a very consistent player and I wasn’t necessarily going for the win every time.”
Seniors Bailey Ferguson and Paige Silverman played in the second doubles position with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
“The key is to keep focused, engaged, and play with dignity,” Ferguson said. “I feel like my partner and I were able to do that today.”
The team next plays on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Marin Catholic.
