The all-league honors for girls’ soccer were announced this week, with senior Chace Schornstein earning the MCAL player of the year award, the first Redwood player to win it in over ten years.

Schornstein led MCAL in goals this season, scoring 17 for the Giants. The girls’ soccer team finished the season second overall with a regular season record of 7-2-2, but was ousted in the semi-finals of the MCAL playoffs after a 1-0 against Tamalpais.

Schornstein earned first team honors her junior and sophomore year, and second team honors her freshman year. She will be playing soccer next year at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Junior Lauren Kuchman earned second team honors, while seniors Sally Elton and Emma Gallagher, sophomore Shaya Barry and freshman Lauren Foehr earned honorable mentions.
