On March 26, the boys’ varsity volleyball team lost to Drake in the final round by three points.

Redwood took an early lead by winning the first two rounds. As the game entered the third round, Redwood trailed behind Drake, not able to pull ahead before losing the round.

By the fourth round, Redwood was behind 11-21. Redwood pushed to close the gap, drilling the ball into the corners of the court bringing the score to 19-23. Despite their effort, the round finished with Drake wining the round 19-25.

Redwood kept the score neck and neck as tension rose. Redwood was at their peak, deflecting the hardest of hits, and slamming hits from the net right to their opponents’ feet. Drake slowly pulled ahead, as Redwood started struggling to defend against their onslaught. It was just the pull Drake needed to win 12-15.

The boys’ varsity team will be playing El Molino High School on Wednesday, April 2 at Redwood.
