On Oct. 18, senior Charlotte “Cat” Domet was elected as this year’s Homecoming Royal through a schoolwide election. Domet has made an impression on the student body and staff by flourishing in Redwood’s Ensemble Production Company (EPiC) theater program and by spreading positivity everywhere she goes.
Domet has been in EPiC since her freshman year. Offstage, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Maisie, being in nature and engaging in a variety of creative activities.
Domet has been bringing her artistry to life since she was in 5th grade.
“Doing creative things is how I express myself,” Domet said. “I do it in many ways, [such as] theater and art.”
She does at least three shows with EPiC per year. Domet’s work ranges from performing in Shakespearean plays, Broadway-style musicals and EPiC’s annual improvisation show, “Micetro.”

However, it’s not just the shows that make the theatrical experience special for Domet.
“The people are really amazing,” Domet said. “Everyone [in the EPiC program] is very sweet [and] accepting.”
Throughout her experience in the program, Domet has built a notable career within EPiC. Playing the lead in “Mean Girls: the Musical” was a personal favorite role for Domet. She notes that the experience would not have been complete without her peers.
“I played Regina [in Mean Girls]. It was awesome, especially because the cast was really sweet,” Domet said.
Another highlight for Domet’s high school theatrical career was performing in “Cabaret” her freshman year, back in 2022.
“[Cabaret’s] music is amazing and the musical is amazing. It introduced me to EPiC Drama and I love that,” Domet said.

Beyond her extensive resume, Domet makes an effort to embody positivity and joy in her work.
“My biggest piece of advice is [that] life is easier when you’re open to everything and when you try to stay positive through everything,” Domet said.
Drama teacher Erik Berkowitz has taught Domet all four years, praising her dedication and the impact she has on EPiC throughout her time at Redwood.
“Cat volunteers a lot [with EPiC] and is involved,” Berkowitz said. “She’s a helpful member of our theater company.”
Berkowitz also noted her growth over the past four years.
“Cat’s acting has gotten clearer [as she has] gained confidence,” Berkowitz said. “She’s really free to be herself.”
Continuing her impressive streak with EPiC Drama, Domet will be playing the lead role of Eurydice in the Greek mythology-inspired musical “Hadestown,” opening on November 6.
