Leading her team to this year’s MCAL title, Caroline Logan has established herself as one of the top soccer players in the district.

Playing for most of her life, Logan is proud of how far she come as a player and as a teammate.

“My mom was my first coach and at first she would always have to tell me to stop doing cart-wheels and start kicking the ball around,” Logan said.  “ After playing for a few days, I just fell in love with it.”

Logan, who won the MCAL championship game with a goal in double overtime, said the experience was “unreal.”

“Winning a championship has been on the back of my mind ever since I was a freshman on varsity,” Logan said. “It was really satisfying not only to win it for our team this year, but also for our teammates in the past years who have deserved it. I still can’t believe it happened.”

Along with being a superb player on the field, Logan has earned a 4.19 G.P.A over the past four years. She has excelled in academics and is proud she has been able to conquer both the soccer field and her schoolwork.

“I’ve always been very studious and a hard worker when it came to academics, but soccer always helped me focus better because I would come home from practice in a good mood and I would get right to work.  I had less time to procrastinate,” she said.

As Logan is wrapping up her last season for Redwood, she is continuing to play at the collegiate level at Bowdoin College.

“I wasn’t sure if I always wanted to play soccer in college, but I fell in love with the school and then the coach recruited me and it all just kind of worked out,” Logan said. “It’s going to be fun to play at the next level and get challenged everyday.”
