Gallery: Students build community during Advisory

Gallery%3A+Students+build+community+during+Advisory

On Feb. 27 and March 6, Link Crew carried out a community building Advisory activity in groups of two houses on each of the days.

The two houses gathered in the gym and constructed houses out of index cards. Students from each Advisory class initially worked with their classmates, and then built bridges and roads leading to other Advisory classes.

Once the index cards had been successfully built into miniature cities and bridged together, Erik Berkowitz, one of the Link Crew teachers, instructed the students to knock down all the cities. The lesson here was intended to be that it takes a long time to build community, but only seconds to destroy it, according to Berkowitz during the activity.
