In a tense home victory in front of a packed crowd, the girls’ varsity lacrosse team eked out a win against University by a score of 7-6.

Although the game was tied for most of the second half, Redwood pulled ahead in the last three minutes on a game-winning goal by senior Kendra Loo. The Giants held that lead until the end of the game.

Senior Hayden Dean led the Giants’ attack with three goals throughout the game, while junior Neeve Kennedy led the team in assists.

“Whenever we play University it’s always one goal, two goals. We did come out and play with our hearts,” Loo said.

The crowd at the University game was the biggest yet, according to Loo and Kennedy.

“We had the most fans we’ve ever had today,” Kennedy said.

Redwood’s next home game is scheduled for Tuesday against California High School.
