The boys’ varsity soccer team fell 1-0 to Terra Linda on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the North Coast Section playoffs.

Terra Linda scored a header midway through the second half, which was barely enough to pull off the win against the Giants, according to co-captain senior Teymour Sadrieh.

“We had twice as many chances as they did, [but] we just couldn’t get our shots on target,” Sadrieh said. “Some days the ball just doesn’t go into the back of the net.”

Sadrieh also said that securing the MCALs title helped soften the tough loss for the team.

According to co-captain senior Jamie Planes, the team has a lot of young talent that provides a promising future to the organization.

“We have a lot of freshman and sophomores that stepped up this [varsity] season,” Planes said. “I think this team is going to be good going into the next couple years.”

Overall, the team went 15-3-5, won an MCAL championship, and made it to the NCS semifinals.
