Freshman football suffers third loss of the season

On Friday, Sept. 26, the freshman football team suffered their third loss of the non-conference season with a final score of 42-14 against Mission High School, leaving their non-league record at 1-3.

Going into the second quarter, the teams were tied, but Mission soon took the lead, ending the second quarter with the score at 12-6.

The third quarter proved to be favorable for Mission, and they ended the quarter with a score of 26-6, leaving the Redwood fans hoping for major recovery going into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter began with a touchdown by Redwood’s Alejandro Deleon, as well as a two-point conversion to bump the score up to 26-14. Mission continued to score, leaving the final score at 42-14.

The team has not yet begun playing MCAL matches. Redwood will play its first league game on Oct. 11 against Novato High School.
