Denny’s, a restaurant in Corte Madera known by many students as a go-to location for food at any time of the day, has closed its doors for good.
According to manager Ahmed Abdelkadir, this Denny’s location closed Monday, May 19. He said the restaurant closed due to a lease renewal dispute with the landowner, a disagreement that had been ongoing for three years.
The Denny’s corporate headquarters was unable to give more information regarding the reasoning behind the decision.
Denny’s is one of the few 24 hour establishments in Marin County, and is, as a result, a hotspot for Redwood students in search of food at all hours.
“One of my favorite times I went was after the Steve Aoki concert. A bunch of us went and just wound down our night, and we were still buzzing from the concert. It was a good, safe place to just reminisce,” said senior Henry Friedricks.
